However, as a natural substance, wood needs to be treated and cared for in the right way; it can absorb and release moisture over time, and can expand and contract as the temperature changes. But with the correct care and treatment, our wooden pet furniture will remain a beautiful feature in your home for years to come.
Our wooden pet furniture is varnished and finished in a clear lacquer, which means they are very simple to clean during your regular cleaning routine. Simply wipe down the surfaces with a soft, damp cotton cloth. You can use a mild soap or detergent if you have tougher stains or marks to remove.
Once you have cleaned the surface, wipe dry with a soft cloth to remove any excess moisture that could be absorbed into the wood. Make sure to avoid any rough cloths, and stronger cleaning products like bleach, that could damage the surface of the wood.

A feeding station has two surfaces to look after: the removable bowls and the wooden stand. Clean them separately so you can wash the bowls without soaking the timber.
The finish makes everyday wiping easier, but the stand should not be left sitting in water. Keeping a dry cloth near the feeding area makes spills easier to deal with promptly.
Lift the stand and check the floor and the underside for trapped moisture. Wipe up water and let the area dry before replacing it. If you use a feeding mat, clean and dry underneath the mat as well; a mat does not remove the need to check for spills.
Keep the feeder on a level indoor surface away from radiators and prolonged direct sunlight. Leave space to lift the bowls out without knocking them against a cupboard or wall.
No. Clean the wooden stand by hand with a soft, damp cloth and wipe it dry. Do not immerse it in the sink or put it in a dishwasher. Follow any separate care instructions supplied with the bowls; do not assume that the stand and bowls can be cleaned in the same way.
Avoid scraping the surface or using abrasive pads to remove a mark. If the finish is damaged, or you notice swelling or a rough edge, contact us before applying a repair product. Send a photograph and tell us which stand you have so we can discuss an appropriate next step.
Do not add oil, wax, polish or another coating unless it has been confirmed as suitable for your product's existing finish.
